Thursday and Friday’s wet weather delayed the start of the Prem men’s match against Marist at Sydenham, a match where pedestrian run rates from both sides ensured that the match wasn’t very well advanced at the end of first day. All womens matches other than T20 were cancelled, in Div 1 the 2nd’s are in a contest, but the 3rds have much work to do. However, there were some important wins further down the grades.
The Prem men had their third straight loss as they went down by 10 wickets to Lancaster Park at Garrick on Saturday. Similar to the previous two matches, Park started the day with a small lead but with 6 wickets still in hand and about 15 overs available to bat.
The side’s recent batting frailties again required a top draw effort from their skipper to keep the Premier Men in their match at Garrick Park, but overall it was a very good day for the Prem Women and most other teams with several good performances down the grades that kept the Cardinals and Goats in particular on the top of their respective competition tables.
