The New Year didn’t bring an immediate change of fortunes for the Prem Men who extended their December run of poor form by losing their second 1-day match on Saturday.
Whilst another set of strong performances on Saturday has the Premier Woman leading the Kirsty Bond series into Christmas, certainly Christmas didn’t come early for the mens grades with only the Division 1 boys managing to get a win out of the four men morning grade teams.
It was an inglorious end to the T20 competition when two underwhelming performances saw both the Prem Men and Championship sides lose their must win morning matches and crash out of the competition. The Prem Woman had a good first up win but capitulated in the second, with Div 1 doing likewise be it in a tight one in the second. Div 2 batted well but fielding let them down as they failed to defend a sizable score.
It was a disappointing evening for the Sydenham teams in Thursday’s T20 matches with the Premier mens, and Division 1 & 2 teams all losing, but it was a quality partnership from the two Wellington mates in Zack Scott-Howman and Josh McArdle who managed to get Kelvin’s Championship side up over the line.
